Kitchen Before and After

Hey guys!  Here’s the final update on our kitchen remodel.  I couldn’t be happier with how it looks and it feels so much more functional than before.

awkward n wasted

Aaron pulled the cabinet next to the dishwasher away and found MOLD.

He found mold on the studs too which meant the wall had to be torn down and rebuilt.  I’m so glad he’s handy.  This really could have set us back but he had it all done in a day.  (I’m so proud Be right back)

and finally The AFTER

The sink is kind of special.  It’s made of crushed granite and is inset into the countertops.  The crushed granite is the only way I would have gone with a sink other than stainless steel.  I would have been too worried about the finish with anything else.  It’s working out great so far.

Oops! Apparently I need to wipe off the counters before I take pics.

Oh my goodness, I hope you guys love it as much as I do.  The lighter cabinets and counters make the space seem so much bigger.  The cabinets are really well constructed too which means things are easier to organize and store.  I actually have ROOM now for all of my stuff.  When I moved everything back in, I was able to weed out a lot of extra or needless dishes, utensils, bakeware and such.  Getting rid of the extra junk is helping out a lot.  It even inspired me to redo the pantry which I’ll have to show y’all later.  I’m proud of how organized it is now Smile  Anywho, that’s the kitchen tour.

Have a great day!

Have you ever done a kitchen remodel?  Did it go smoothly?  What’s your favorite addition?

My favorite addition to the kitchen is a tie between a lazy susan where all of my pots are now easily sorted and the soft close on all of the cabinets/drawers.  No more accidentally slammed doors or drawers which means this clumsy girl’s fingers are SAFE!

  1. It’s amazing what a difference the white cabinets make! The whole space looks bigger, brighter, fresher! Yeay for having a handy hubby. I’ve always wished that I was somehow magically a carpenter or builder or knew how to do practical things like that.

    • Thank you so much! It’s crazy how much just a color change can affect an entire room. Home depot gives lots of classes that I believe are free. Maybe you can learn a thing or two before you guys settle down in a house? Then you’ll be a building wizard before you know it 🙂
