Cheesecake, Weights and an Upcoming Flight

Hey all!  How the heck are ya?  I’m doing just fine thanks Smile  The hubby has to work today (boo for him) but great for me.  I’ve had the opportunity to take him lunch, get me a facial, brush/wipe down the dogs, and get some work done around the house.  Lots more to do so I thought I’d share a few highlights from the last couple of days. 

Yesterday, my good friend Miss Deana had a Mary Kay party as my going away party. This is the reason I made my Triple Chocolate Cheesecake on Monday.  And since I knew that there was going to be a lot of treats and wine, I had to try to earn my night beforehand.  So workout numero dos happened after work.  Yes! 

I was actually super sore two days after the last one (lunges kill me) but it’s onward and upward.  Gotta deal with some soreness so I can get strong again. 


Workout #2:

  • Hip raises  30 sec
  • Dumbbell Rows  12 x 15lbs 
  • Squats 30 sec
  • Pushups 30 sec
  • Plank 30 sec

All repeated 3x


My back and tris are sore today along with my quads.  Awesome! Open-mouthed smile  I WILL get stronger.  I didn’t have time for my run but that’s ok, I’ll get it in later today.  I’m not worried . . .  Now back to CHEESECAKE!

Can I just say that that cake came out fabulously? 


because it did!

It was funny because everyone was so excited to dig in when I got to the party (including my very impatient hubby) and then I had to stop them so I could take a picture.  Open-mouthed smile 


and then they said that my picture was sad looking and we need to spruce it up.  Jessica and Deana grabbed all of the strawberries off the table to put on the cheesecake platter.  It was at this point that my hubby threw up his hands and left while demanding I save him leftovers.  Poor impatient hubs.


I think my friends are catching on to this blogging thing.  Muahahahaha!  I’m going to miss them dearly.

Another reason to miss them dearly? 


Deana experimented with gluten-free baking just for me!  She made me gluten-free chocolate chip shortbread cookies.  They were delicious!   I def enjoyed some for with my breakfast this morning.   Red heart her

Anywho, it’s time for me and the frog feet to get some chores done before the hubby gets home.


I have a lot of things I want to post about that are on their way so keep an eye out for:

  • Some gluten free eats
  • A peanut butter recipe (I came up with all on my own!)
  • A discussion on the shenanigans of feminism
  • I have some pent up aggression in regards to a certain “inspirational” facebook post I read recently
  • More workouts!
  • I’m flying to Indianapolis tomorrow!!!

  1. I might steal your weights workout. (But not the 15 pounders part. I max out at 5 pounds!) I’ve been trying to integrate more weight lifting into my routine, but I have no idea what I’m doing. I just pick up weights and swing them around. (Kidding, mostly).*
