Getting Back on Track

Wasn’t this a fitness blog???  Hey look! I got a workout in today! Open-mouthed smile

  • 20 Sit Ups
  • 15 Reverse Crunches
  • 20 Side Crunches
  • 15 Supermans
  • 15 Clam Shells
  • 15 Side Leg Raises
  • 30 Sec Bridge
  • 15 Burpees
  • 30 sec Plank

I repeated that circuit two times through with no break in between.  Before I did this little routine I went on a 45 minute walk on the trails with the two pups.

Guess what?

My leg doesn’t hurt today!  That’s the first day in at least two weeks Open-mouthed smile  I’m trying to run tomorrow morning (I’ll go easy of course).   However, working out isn’t all that needs to get back on track though.

This is a blog about my ATTEMPT at balanced living.  I don’t have it all down yet and am by no means an expert at it.  Everything in life requires balance and that includes our relationships.  Yep, I want to take a moment and talk about marriage.

It’s hard.

If you don’t want to read about marriage, come back tomorrow for a WIBW post.

Like I said, marriage is hard.  Long distance marriage is harder.  Putting half the world between you and your spouse when problems already existed makes marriage beyond difficult.  Now do all that for almost a year and it spells disaster.

I’ve been trying to pretend like everything is great and that life revolves around food and running with the occasional pup’s face.  My hubby said that perhaps I should share just a bit of the negative since writing is A)cathartic and B) he thinks you all might have some wise words for me (us) and C)  for any of you military folks out there, please take the re-integration briefings seriously.   Anyway,  I don’t need to get into the nitty gritty but I just wanted to be completely real with you all for a moment. Aaron and I are still together and we’re working at it.  For better or for worse right?  I have no idea what the future holds but I know that as long as we both keep trying to do the right thing, then it will all work out the way it’s supposed to.

In the meantime, the radio seems to know my life better than me, so here are some (rather cliché) songs that have been on my mind lately. Note  Call it my “relationships are ridiculous” mix tape.

Have a great day everyone!

  1. Marriage works when you BOTH work on it and have a common ground. Do you both work on “Balanced Living” or just you?

  2. I’m glad you wrote this. Being so far away from my husband while he’s deployed has made our marriage very different. sometimes it feels like we are the only ones dealing with this. Hang in there!*
