Bring Your Own Snacks

My flight to my new location was a loooooong one.  It was split up into two legs with one being a 7 hour flight with a two hour layover and the other being 9 1/2 hours.  With the time difference included, we left early monday morning and arrived tuesday evening.  <ugh>  Then we were in briefings for another couple of hours followed by the massive sorting of ALL of our bags (we each brought five).  Anyway, I’m sure you can imagine that all of this was very tiring.  I don’t know about you all but when I’m tired I like to snack.  So I went prepared 😛

*Oatmeal & Wheat Dark Chocolate chip cookies (with dried cranberries)
*Spicy Mixed Nuts
*Honey Flax Granola with dried cranberries and maple cinnamon almonds

These are the spicy mixed nuts.  These were liberally seasoned but I have no idea how much of what all I put in there.  The two main spices were smoked paprika and cayenne.  They smelled like bbq chips when they came out of the oven.  I dont eat spicy food so these were actually for the crew I traveled with.

This is the honey flax granola.  It was delicious!  It smelled so good when it was baking.  Now that I know how easy it is to make granola I’m never buying it again.  This had oats, honey, flax, molasses, peanuts, maple cinnamon almonds, cranberries and leftover dark chocolate chips.   I couldn’t wait to try some as soon as it came out.

Guess who was the most popular kid at school that day???   Cool
